Asst. Prof. Yasin Çotur
Biography:
Yasin Cotur focuses his research on intelligent biomedical electronics systems. The foundation of his work consists of wearable sensors, implants, and the biomedical applications of artificial intelligence. His current research develops smart devices for physical rehabilitation and novel systems for animal health. By integrating flexible biosensors, IoT platforms, and adaptive human-machine interfaces with machine learning, his laboratory aims to build personalized, holistic health monitoring and management platforms for both clinical and veterinary care.
Combining his academic background with strong industry and entrepreneurial experience, Yasin Cotur served as a Research Associate at Imperial College London prior to joining Boğaziçi University in 2026. Concurrently, he took on executive roles in London-based health-tech startups, serving as the Founder and CTO of AniML Tech, and as the CTO of Spyras Ltd. In these industry leadership roles, he directed interdisciplinary teams to build integrated sensing platforms, managing the entire product development ecosystem from hardware design to machine learning-based data analysis. Alongside his research, he co-supervised over 13 graduate projects and theses during his time at Imperial College.
Dr. Cotur earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Imperial College London in 2021, focusing on stretchable acoustic transducers and wearable wireless sensors. He also holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2013) and an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (2015), both from Boğaziçi University.
