Cellular Imaging & Electrophysiology

Cellular Imaging and Electrophysiology Laboratory

Prof. Dr. Hale Saybasili

Research Fields:

  • Electrophysiological recordings from brain slice cells and imaging of intracellular ionic movements are accomplished. Also mechanisms of pathological and pharmocological approaches are studied.

  • Electrical activity measurements and potential for modelling neurodegenerative diseases, single cell fluorescence imaging

  • Investigating the effects of neuroprotective and/or neurodegenerative agents on differentiated SH-SY5Y cells

  • Investigating the antiinflammatory effects of an endemic plant (Sideritis brevibracteata) and Vitamins E and C on differentiated SH-SY5Y cells

  • Investigating the effects of cardiac drugs on differentiated SH-SY5Y cells

  • Collecting gait, blood and MRI data from stroke patients and investigating correlations between different modalities

  • Whole-cell Patch-clamp

  • Electrophysiology

  • Atomic Force Microscopy

  • Mechanical Properties of the Cells

  • Fluorescence Imaging

  • Cell Culture

  • Immunocytochemistry

  • Stroke

  • Wearable Gait Analysis

  • MRI
